FLCA PURCHASES MATERIALS FOR THE 2005 SCHOOL YEAR

Our Christian brothers and sisters at South Hills Christian School blessed us with an amazing opportunity this past summer.  Unfortunately, this school, located in Finleyville, had closed on June 4th.  The pastor, John Arnold, and administrators, Nancy Gardner and Phil Gernovich,  supervised the liquidation of the school.  Through this sale, First Love Christian Academy acquired the majority of the supplies needed to operate during the 2005-2006 school year.  Below is an approximation of the items, some purchased and others given to FLCA.

50 student desks, 64 individual lockers, 8 teacher desks, 700 books, 300 media and supplemental materials, several maps, 23 bulletin boards, 14 chalkboards, 3 white boards, 14 new computer tables, display shelving (enough for a small library), miscellaneous cafeteria items, 2 microwaves, 1 sandwich warmer, cafeteria bench with stools, 4 risers, 2 cafeteria trash bins, 75 folding chairs, 6 folding tables, conference table, small safe, 2 small file cabinets, 1 music file cabinet, and many miscellaneous school supplies.  Oh, not to mention the science lab including: teacher slate desk and sink, slate counter tables with sinks, slate student desks, glassware (test tubes, beakers, slides, etc...), fume hood, chemicals, organic chemistry kits, Bunsen burners, safety blankets, first aid kits, and many miscellaneous items.

The academy wants to thank all of the stewards who offered their time to help move the materials over a 5 day period!

Rich Sherburne, Jon and Marion Sherburne, CLP Larry Deemer, Jack Vensel, Zonie Jackson, Mark Klein, Bernie Vensel, Bryant Ritchie, Markie Klein, Benji McPherson, Mandy LaCross, Chris McPherson, Justin Womer, Aubrey Leech, Emily Jackson, Eric Jackson

Also, thank you to Pam McPherson for sending food of plenty to feed the stewards and Joy Vensel for babysitting!

The directors are deeply moved by the volunteering of storage space by Dale and Natalie Leech, Sarah Vensel, and Sam and Zonie Jackson!

Finally, a thank you is extended to Pastor John Arnold, Phil Gernovich, Nancy Gardner, Pete and Alicia Peterson for all of the advice and help over the past week.

We Praise God for all of your generosity!
