Commissioner Diana Irey Diana Irey, elected in 1995, is the only woman ever to be elected as a Washington County commissioner. She is now serving her 4th four year term. Diana has held a number of positions helping to steer the Washington County area toward increased economic growth. She served on the board of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission; co-chaired its Committee to Develop the Former Alcoa building into a regional renaissance tower; served on the boards of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Growth Alliance and Pittsburgh Regional Alliance executive board, and co-chaired their business attraction committee. Appointed by Governor Tom Ridge, Diana served on the Port of Pittsburgh Commission. And she is past president of the Mon Valley United Way. For these and other endeavors, she was named one of the top "60 Pittsburghers of the year" by Pittsburgh Magazine in December 1999, and was honored to be chosen as the 1998 spring distinguished ethics speaker for the Beard Center for Leadership in Ethics at Duquesne University. |

Mrs. Zonie Jackson Educationally:
Mrs. Jackson received
her bachelor's degree in English Education from West Liberty State College.
She taught English in public school for 13 years before leaving to work as
Family Services Director at Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp in Ohio. A
life-long learner and always looking for new learning experiences, Mrs.
Jackson has continuing education credits in over 20 different areas. She
holds certificates in English, Business Writing, Childcare Fundamentals and
Counseling Techniques. Feeling a strong desire to help others in our hurting
world, Mrs. Jackson joined the Master’s Degree program at North East Ohio
Bible College to study Christian Counseling/Psychology.

Mrs. Kathleen S. Klein
Educationally:
Mrs.
Klein is currently working toward two doctoral degrees from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania and Freedom Bible College and recently published
a research article on social capital in education. She received her bachelor's degree with honors in mathematics from
Wheeling Jesuit University, and a master's degree (summa cum laude) in
secondary teaching, with a concentration in technology, from a state
university. With a strong belief in continuing education, Kathleen
has presently accumulated over 350 Act 48 educational credits. She has 17 years' experience teaching from fourth grade through
calculus mathematics, as well as German, health, science, and tutoring and
preparatory courses. In addition, she serves as an adjunct faculty
member at Wheeling Jesuit University's mathematics department and was
inducted in the PHI KAPPA PHI honor society.. |

Mr. Alejandro Pinzón Alejandro Pinzón was born in Mérida (Yucatán, México), where he completed his Bachelor degree in Public Relations at the top of his class. He recently graduated with a M.M. in Orchestra Conducting at the University of Texas at El Paso. Mr. Pinzón is founder of Musicale Productions and the youngest member of the Yucatán Musician’s Association. Mr. Pinzón has been active as violinist, translator, music columnist, violin teacher, creator of music ensembles, and organizer of didactic concerts for college students. He has participated in concerts, master classes and music festivals in Mexico, United States, Europe, and South America. Mr. Pinzón was a recipient of the “State Award for Youth Artistic Merit” by the Institute of Youth of Yucatán in September 2003. In the field of Christian music, he produced “Concierto Ave María” in 2005 and conducted the premiere of “Wedding Mass for Chamber Orchestra and Vocal Octet” in 2007. Since 1998, Mr. Pinzón has performed extensively in Christian services with different kind of music groups, including guitar ensembles, string quartets and orchestras. Being an alumnus of a Christian high school himself, FLCA gives him the opportunity to share with youth his musical knowledge as well as his native language in a mission-directed environment. |

Mrs. Betty Shingle Education: Betty received her BS in Medical Technology and Biology from West Liberty State College. She currently serves as Director of Student Affairs at Penn Commercial Business/Technical School in Washington, PA. She has 20+ years experience in education. Betty holds multiple healthcare, medical and computer certifications. FLCA: A part of the original planning committee, Betty is very excited to become part of the FLCA faculty and looks forward to the opportunity of sharing her faith. Spiritually: Betty has
spent her entire adult life in service for the Master. She currently serves
as church organist and choir director. Betty also teaches Sunday school, and
she and her family have written all VBS curriculum for the church for the
past five years. |

Mr.
Walter Weaver Educationally: Mr. Weaver earned a BA in Philosophy and Classics (Greek and Latin) from St. Vincent College, then a MA (+33 extra graduate credits) in Religion. He was awarded a NEH Fellowship to study Chaucer at the U. of Rochester in 1990. He is "retired," having taught Latin and History at Canon-McMillan for 35 years; Latin two years at Canevin; and History, World Religion, and Greek Heritage at CCAC. Presently, he is an adjunct in the Religion department at W & J. He has hosted eight exchange students and has been to Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain (seven times.) He has also taught Intro to Spanish and French, and has substituted in French 2 and 3. Spiritually: Walt attended public and parochial schools. His dad's side of the family is Lutheran and Church of the Brethren; his mother's Catholic. His oldest son's family attends a Methodist Church in Indiana. He is active in Right to Life and supports Covenant House. Having been in the seminary for seven years, religion is an important part of his life and outlook. Attendance at church every Sunday is a must. FLCA: Mr. Weaver is personally committed to religion being the integrating principle of his life. He hopes to communicate that idea to the students of FLCA." |

After attending Penn State University, Mr. Brooks spent nearly twenty years in Christian media and became a fixture in both the Pittsburgh and Greater Cleveland radio markets, working most recently in that field at WCRF, the award-winning Moody Bible Institute facility in Northeast Ohio. In 2002, Mr. Brooks and his wife returned to Southwestern Pennsylvania to minister together at a Teen Challenge program for adolescent males. During his time at Teen Challenge, Mr. Brooks re-established the program's in-house Christian high school in Pennsylvania, developed a new Biblical Studies curriculum for use by the students, and served as interim Executive Director of the organization. Mr. Brooks is a member of Washington Alliance Church in Washington, PA, where he serves as an elder and adult Sunday School instructor. He also presents programs in practical apologetics and the textual reliability of the New Testament at various churches and venues in the Tri-State. Mr. Brooks is currently pursuing licensing and ordination through the Christian and Missionary Alliance. In addition to his interest in theology and New Testament studies, Mr. Brooks is recognized as an accomplished amateur historian. He travels throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as a lecturer and living history interpreter. As a tribute to his veteran father, Mr. Brooks is currently writing a book on the history of U.S. Army Antiaircraft Artillery in the Second World War. He has published a website on that topic that has been well-received by veterans and military historians. |

Mr. Shannon Gottschalk Educationally: Mr. Gottschalk graduated cum laude from Waynesburg College with a B.S. in Biology (Pre-Medical) in May 2005. He is a 2001 graduate of McGuffey High School, inducted in to the National Honor Society in 2000. He was a student tutor at Waynesburg College in areas of Biology, Mathematics and English for three years. Mr. Gottschalk also has experience in Computer science, providing support for Waynesburg College and its satellite campuses. Spiritually: Since Shannon submitted to the Lord in 1998, he has been a committed in his local Church and Community. He is the co-founder of the Christian Youth Fellowship Club; a student led Christian organization held within McGuffey High School. Shannon has been dedicating himself to teaching and assisting in numerous Vacation Bible School programs throughout the years. He enjoys working with the youth in Christ and proves to be respectable and humble in his accomplishments. He is currently a Junior Deacon at Beulah Baptist Church of Graysville. Shannon believes in the power of prayer and authority of God’s Word. FLCA: Mr. Gottschalk believes that God is at work at First Love Christian Academy. He knows from experience that the youth of today are lost and seeking direction. First Love provides the hope and direction that so many desire. Mr. Gottschalk knows that is true and dedicates his heart to that purpose. |
